Ultimate Moving Gender Fairness Forward in Sports:
In spite of the gender binary enforced structurally and socially through the “Men’s” and “Women’s” divisions and rules for binary gender ratios in mixed divisions, genderqueer and trans athletes have overcome barriers to exist and excel at all levels of the sport. Many people in ultimate are working to make the sport a safer and more welcoming place for athletes living outside the cisgender binary; much work remains to be done.
